The 2023 Jeep Lineup: What's New ?

The New Year is officially here, and with it comes a collection of brand-new vehicles at Manitoulin Chrysler. In fact, we've already seen some members of the 2023 Jeep lineup roll onto our lot and some have even rolled away just the same.

But how do the new Jeep models differ from last year's? We're summarizing the key changes that Jeep has made to each of its models for 2023.

2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee and Grand Cherokee L

Being that it received a complete redesign in 2022, the mid-sized Grand Cherokee and the larger Grand Cherokee L SUVs will carry over into 2023 with very minor changes.

30th Anniversary Grand Cherokee 4xe
Among these changes, is the introduction of a new 30th Anniversary Edition exclusive to the Grand Cherokee 4xe which will add black body accents, black 20-inch wheels, body-color-matched lower moldings, rocker panels, and fender flares. Finer features include a dual-tip exhaust, a dual-pane sunroof, Capri leather trim, ventilated front seats, a 9-Alpine Speaker audio system, a wireless charging pad, a digital rearview mirror, a surround-view camera system, as well as a 10.1-inch infotainment screen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration.

The off-road Grand Cherokee Trailhawk trim will only be offered as a 4xe plug-in hybrid, powered by a 2.0-liter turbo-4 with two electric motors.

2023 Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer

Launched in 2022 and returning for 2023, the timeless full-size SUVs get even lengthier with Jeep Wagoneer L and Grand Wagoneer L models that are a foot longer than the prior year and have a 7.0-inch longer wheelbase than the 2022 models. It’s no coincidence that the new Wagoneers measure exactly one inch longer than the 2022 Chevrolet Suburban.

2023 Jeep Wrangler Freedom Special Edition
2023 Jeep Wrangler

New for 2023 is a Freedom special edition that plays to the U.S. military with an American flag decal, an Oscar Mike “on the move” badge, and a $250 donation to military charities for every Wrangler and Gladiator Freedom model purchased. These special edition Jeeps come standard with steel rock rails and a steel front bumper to equip a winch.

2023 Jeep Wrangler 4xe

Joining Jeep's lineup of Plug-in Hybrids, a new entry-level Willys trim is being introduced and will be more cost-efficient than last year’s entry-level Sahara 4xe, and it comes well-equipped. Standard running gear includes LED headlights, 17-inch wheels, mud-terrain tires, rock rails, a limited-slip differential, a 9-speaker Alpine audio system, and all-weather floor mats. Popular features like a retractable power roof and an 8.4-inch infotainment screen are available options.

2023 Jeep Wrangler Willys 4xe
The Willys 4xe will come standard with a full-time 4-wheel-drive system, heavy-duty Dana 44 axles, and a lift kit with 10.1 inches of ground clearance. Like other 4xe models, the Wrangler 4xe uses a 2.0-liter turbo-4 and a pair of electric motors to generate up to 375 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque. A 17.3-kWh battery feeds the two engines to deliver 33 kms of electric range.

2023 Jeep Gladiator

2023 Jeep Gladiator Freedom Special Edition
The pickup truck version of the Wrangler continues to come equipped with a 3.6-liter V-6 that makes 285 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque, and a 6-speed manual transmission or available 8-speed automatic. An available 3.0-liter turbodiesel V-6 returns, with 260 hp and 442 lb-ft of torque, and an 8-speed automatic. Towing capacity maxes out at 7,700 lb.

New for the 2023 model year is a Freedom special edition, with similar equipment to the Wrangler Freedom Edition package. All but the base Sport models come with keyless entry, remote start, and a 7.0-inch instrument cluster.

What about the other Jeep models?

The 2023 Jeep Cherokee, 2023 Jeep Compass, and 2023 Jeep Renegade are expected to carry over unchanged from last year.
