Jeep's lineup has seen a lot of movement during the past few years. Numerous new models have emerged, the first of which was the new Grand Cherokee, along with the return of the Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer models. That doesn't, however, imply that the upcoming years will be any less exciting. The automaker is working on several innovative projects, such as four all-electric models that should arrive by 2025.
In the meantime, we're sharing what you can expect from Jeep's 2024 lineup.
2024 JEEP WRANGLER
The 2024 lineup of the Jeep Wrangler sees an array of updates to the interior and exterior. The 2024 trims for the Wrangler are as follows: Sport, Sport S, Willys, Rubicon, Rubicon X, and Rubicon 392. Numerous of these trims are also available in the 4xe hybrid lineup. Across-the-board exterior upgrades include a redesigned 7-slot grille and a trail-ready stealth antenna incorporated into the windshield. When it comes to open-air options, you have more than ever, including the premium Sky One-Touch powertop. The revamped interior also has available 12-way power-adjustable front seats and improved noise cancellation in the cabin.
A best-in-class 12.3-inch touchscreen has replaced the smaller five- and seven-inch screens on the completely redesigned instrument panel. The new infotainment system boasts UConnect 5 and is compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. If you're interested in off-roading, the onboard navigation system is second to none and includes mapping for over 3000 trails through the Trails Offroad application.
Jeep has also equipped the 2024 Wrangler with additional safety features. First and second-row side-curtain airbags are standard across every trim level. Every model that is Sport S or higher adds forward collision warning and advanced cruise control. These join the extensive list of safety features from earlier models such as Automatic High-beams, Rear Park Assist, Blind Spot Monitoring, and rear cross-path detection.
RUBICON
Regarding the Rubicon X model, it comes with an available 2.0L or 3.6L engine along with steel bumpers, an integrated off-roading camera, and standard 35-inch tires. Every Rubicon model also includes a factory-installed 8,000 Ib capacity winch, a new Dana 44 HD full float solid rear axle, a 100:1 crawl ratio, and the ability to tow up to 5,000 Ibs so you can take more equipment on all your trips.
Updates for the 2024 Grand Cherokee lineup have been kept to a minimum. The only Grand Cherokee & Grand Cherokee L updates pertain to the Limited trim levels. Both versions of this mid-spec model now receive 18-inch polished/painted aluminum wheels as standard.
Upgrades to the 4xe on the other hand, are more substantial. The Trailhawk trim receives new 18-inch wheels painted in black, while the Anniversary Edition has several interior improvements. All seats have been upholstered in capri leatherette, while passengers sitting up front will benefit from the new ventilated seats.
Another feature that everyone will be sure to enjoy is the nine-speaker Alpine sound system operated via the Uconnect 5 System which also includes built-in Navigation. Wireless device charging, 20-inch black-painted wheels, and several outside accessories are also included in this package.
JEEP COMPASS
The Jeep Compass is heading into 2024 with a few small cosmetic changes and new tires that are sure to give it a little more confidence offroad. These minor adjustments follow the more significant changes that were made in 2023, such as the 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine.
It would take a well-trained eye to distinguish the 2024 Compass from the outgoing 2023 model in a parking lot. If you look closely, you will notice that the inserts in the grille are no longer mesh-shaped; they are instead smooth. Jeep has also added new wheel designs to the portfolio, though it hasn't shown them off yet as they aren't slated to be available until later in the 2024 model year. Similarly, the off-road-focused Trailhawk trim will receive new all-terrain tires at some point before the end of the 2024 model year. Other than these minor modifications, the Compass remains unaltered.
JEEP GLADIATOR
The 2024 Jeep Gladiator, for the most part, gets a cut-and-paste of almost everything that was updated on its Wrangler progenitor. However, there are a few upgrades that are unique to the Gladiator model. While the Wrangler will offer four powertrain options, the Gladiator loses its diesel option and will commence the new model year with only the slower, less efficient 3.6-liter V-6. We anticipate a Gladiator 4xe will become available in the next 12 to 18 months.
Two new models will join the Gladiator lineup in the meantime, the Mojave X and Rubicon X, adding standard Nappa Leather Upholstery, an Off-Road+ drive mode (to better tailor thrilled and transmission shift strategies for sand and roads and enable rear differential locking in 4H9 mode), plus a lot of other optional features. The Gladiator will not receive the Wrangler's full-floating Dana 44 axle, mostly because its five-link coil-sprung rear axle already surpasses the Wrangler's towing capacity without it.
Jeep has promised to electrify its entire lineup of SUVs by 2025, with two of its new electrified models: the Recon and the Wagoneer "S" slated for release as early as next year. While the brand is known to embody impressive 4X4 capability, they have stated that 4xe is going to be their new 4x4.
